IP Address, generally, is assigned via DHCP every time you log on to the system, unless your config specified a static IP. So every time you reboot you should have gotten a new IP address. Perhaps, the problem is NOT what you think it is.

Your AMD K6 is basically Pentium-class CPU, and I mean Pentium (1), not II, III, or IV. Just the ORIGINAL Pentium, albeit a very fast one, but it maxes out at less than 500 MHz, a fraction of today's 3-4 GHz machines. If you are happy with the a…

Such a video card will work in DX9 mode in an XP system. To use DX10 you need to upgrade to Vista.

Don't forget emu8086, the 8086 emulator http://www.emu8086.com/ What you need though is the Intel databook on the 8086, and it's of course, out of print, but search for it.

Nothing will help. CPU too slow, not enough RAM, barely acceptable GPU (AMD 4250). If you have the top end model (with Phenom II x4 and 5650) it's a different story. That average one? Nah. Sell it and add some money to buy a better one.

QT is a bit of a pain. I'd go QT to AVI, then AVI to WMV. QT Pro to convert QT to AVI, then SUPER to AVI to WMV.

VAIO is a 'series'. SONY is the brand. I personally find Sony stuff somewhat overpriced, but nicely engineered.

No. If you look at the box carefully, it's cardboard box underneath. The top layer is one layer of paper that's printed separately then pasted onto the cardboard, then die-cut and scored, then assembled into a box. --- Kasey C, PC guru since Ap…
