I'm referring to all kinds of salts in general....
Not every salt contains oxygen or hydrogen. It depends on the specific salt.
For example NaClO (Sodium hypochlorite) Sodium & NaNO3 (Sodium nitrate) are just two examples of salts that contain oxygen.
Some salts also contain hydrogen. These are call acid salts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid_salt
Examples include: NaHSO4 (Sodium bisulfate) & NaHCO3 (Sodium bicarbonate)
If you notice most of the acid salts contain both oxygen and hydrogen. However sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS) contains only hydrogen without oxygen.
=====
Stevenc you are incorrect, for example the most common of salts - NaCl (table salt, sodium chloride) does not contain either oxygen or hydrogen.
Both! Every salt will either have an oxygen or hydrogen. Particularly hydrogen.
either
