Lebanon/Syria Who is David Pasha?

I was wondering if anyone who knows about lebanese or Syrian history has heard of my great-great-great grandpa. I have heard from my family that he lived during the ottoman empire and was assigned to oversee an area of syria that is now lebanon. His name was daud or dauid or daoud, im not sure on the spelling but the name for David. Also, I don't know if this was his last name or just a title but I think he was called David pasha? but i don't know what that means. My grandfather loves to tell stories about his family and this story of having a "famous" (i dont know if he is famous but my grandpa likes to believe so haha) ancestor is just one of many haha. If anyone from this area or field of knowledge knows anything i would love to get some insight. Thanks :)
