Calculate the change in potential energy when this electron is moved radially outward to a distance of 2 Å.

If the distance is doubled, the force of attraction between proton and electron is cut to 1/4 of the original - this is true of magnetism, gravity, and electrostatic force. That, in turn, would reduce the potential energy of the electron to 1/4 of the original energy. I think.
