  • Homemade truffles:

take 1/2 packet of malt biscuits and crush in a bag with a rolling pin, or in a food processor then put into a large bowl.

pour 1x 125ml can of condensed milk in saucepan and add 1/2 cup of chopped chocolate. Stir over low heat until chocolate is completely melted.

stir condensed milk/chocolate into crushed malt biscuits along with 1/2 cup of coconut. Mix well until fully combined then put in fridge for 10 minutes.

While it's in the fridge, lay out some cupcake cases on a baking tray and set up some bowls of chocolate sprinkles, chopped mini marshmallows, coconut and chopped nuts.

Take mixture out of fridge. Using a teaspoon, scoop out small bits into your hand (roughly the size of a small plum or apricot). Roll them into balls then roll them in one of the bowls of toppings until completely covered. Place into the cupcake cases and put the back in the fridge for an hour.

Line a gift box with tissue paper, leaving some hanging over the edges. Take the truffles out of the fridge and put them still in their individual cases into the gift box, alternating the flavours. Once the box is full (one layer), wrap the tissue paper hanging over the edges lightly over the top of the truffles.

Put the lid on, wrap a wide bow around it and put back in the fridge until ready to gift.

    Homemade jewellery:

Go to your local craft store and purchase earring hooks, necklace clasps, fishing wire, needle nose pliers and beads. Hire a book from the library, or simply google "Make your own jewellery at home". These will give you detailed directions that are very easy to follow.

    Homemade bath salts:

Mix 1 cup of epsom salts and 1 cup of baking soda in a large bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of liquid glycerin, 4 drops of food colouring (any colour you like) and several drops of essential oil (eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender, lemon, etc.). Mix well so there are no lumps. Pour into a decorative jar and seal (you can also add a small scoop if you like). To use, just add 2

    tablespoons to a warm bath.

    Homemade pasta sauce:

peel and dice a few large tomatoes (alternatively you can buy a can of diced tomatoes) and put them in a bowl

add a small can of tomato paste and mix well.

sautee 1 small diced onion, 1/2 can mushrooms (or 1/4 packet diced fresh) and 1 small diced green bell pepper.

add tomato mixture and simmer for 20 minutes

add 1/8 cup brown sugar and simmer for another 20 minutes.

Let cool completely before storing it in decorative jars. You can also add a small amount of cooked mince to this recipe if desired.

    Homemade Recipe Book:

Google as many recipes as you can, ranging from breakfast foods to main meals. Don't forget desserts, salads and soups.

Type them into a word processor and centre them in the middle of the page. Print out one recipe on each page.

Using a sheet of cardboard, cut two sheets the same size as your printing paper, and decorate as desired for front and back covers.

Use a hole punch to put two holes in the sides of the paper and cardboard, and tie with a festive ribbon.

If desired, you can print out some pictures of the finished products from the recipes and stick them using invisible tape to the opposite side of the paper (so that the recipe is on the right, picture on the left). Don't use glue as this make seep through the paper and destroy the recipe on the other side.

  • If that is your baby in your icon, she/he is adorable!

Anyways, there's a thing called "fortune cookie soap" and I think they're so cute.
