half life 1 slow control response?
hi i downloaded half life non steam a long time ago and it worked flawlessly for about 5 months then one day i start laying as usual and the response is extremely slow. i have already tried put graphics options to the very minimum to no success. i have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling half life. still no success. thank you in advance for the help.
Update:no i dont think i made any significant changes to any of my hardware. however how would i run it on d3d ?

Did anything on your computer change in that time? New hardware or software? There are hundreds of various issues that could affect the speed. Does this happen with any other games? Without more information, I can really only give general tips. I would suggest limiting the frames to 60 in the options. If your settings are set to OpenGL, try D3D. Make sure the color depth and resolution matches your desktop. Close any running processes that are unnecessary, such as antivirus software, browsers, services that aren't being currently used, etc.
Your playing on a PC right? Well, all I can say is that your working it too hard. How much are you playing iy? Just get a console like everyone else. PS2 is like 40 bucks and half life is like 12 bucks
