Trying to turbo a C-platform (Mirage/Lancer) with an automatic transmission will leave your car sitting still because you blew the gearbox, guaranteed.
Mitsubishi automatics aren't too hearty, and the Mirage/Lancer is their entry level car (IE cheap!). My 1995 Mirage ate three automatics in 160,000 miles. The short version is that it is made to handle the 4G94's stock output and nothing more. Pushing more power through it wil destroy it and very quickly.
Your best bet is to swap to a manual transmission, which is much more durable and harder to destroy. If my memory serves, the 5th generation Mirage (97-01) shares the same transmissions and engines as your Lancer (4G94 is a 4G93 stroked to 2.0L)
Yes you need a exhaust manifold for you turbo and a O2 manifold from you turbo to you downpipe. Also you don't want to start with alot of power unless you have built up the motor. The tranmission in the lancer suck as and would not hold up to more then 150 hp. Trying starting out with a T28 for a unbuilt motor. Also your going to need fuel management and ignition control when wanting more power.

Go to www.evolutionm.net, great site if you want to learn about your Lancer and upgrading it. Also check out www.roadracemotorsports.com, they have what you need to turbo your automatic Lancer.
