Is Christmas too commercial.......?
anymore???? I totally think it is. its all gimme gimme gimme want want want. Its so sad to see! I admit Ive been guilty of it- and especially this year because its the last one before my son goes off to college so I kinda wanted to go over board and make it extra special ya know? But we always as a family decorate the tree together and we still string popcorn and fruit loops every year and bake our cookies together and its sooo much fun! We always make each other coupons- like for my son: This coupon good for one day off of grounding, or this one good for getting out of dishes and so on! We all love to get them and they can be used all year long too! So many people go broke over Xmas and pay it off all year long on the credit cards. Its a little crazy dont u think? How can I make this Xmas even more special for my son without spoiling him more than he already is????

Of course it is.
Thanksgiving hasn't even gotten here yet and my town just had the Christmas Parade. Christmas decorations going up everywhere. I don't think I ever saw a Thanksgiving decoration anywhere...
Shop Shop Shop.
Spend Spend Spend.
It's very sickening and shows just how greedy our society has become.
Christmas is as commercial as you let it be. In my family we bake together still give at least 2 handmade gifts every year, we take the kids to give away good or almost new toys they no longer play with to a second hand store for lower Income families. My mom made a stop on the whole commercial gimme gimme gimme in the early 90's when I was 16, and asked for a car..LOL. Ever since then, its been about togetherness, family tradition, love, and really enjoying the season. It was the best thing she ever did. i do the same for my kids. We have a 25 days till Christmas count down, every night for 25 days we sit down and watch one Christmas movie, hang 1 of the 25 day themed xmas ornaments I made on the tree, on the last day which is christmas day, we listen to xmas music all day hang the final ornament on the tree, which by the way is the magic key that santa uses to get into our house!!! Yes, santa still visits me at my parents even though I'm 29, although I now get practical things. The final movie we watch is always A Christmas Story, its a classic no year is complete without it. It sounds simple but, isn't that what Christmas is about, simply enjoying friends family, and remembering those less fortunate than you. Make your sons christmas extra special why not give him a twelve days of christmas. give him 12 little presents such as a favorite candy bar, his favorite meal..etc,,,until Christmas day when he gets all his other gifts.
what's it with those companys stop bringing christmas before and before... its in basic terms october... on the city they have a grotto... my nan became going on on the youngsters approximately christmas nd what would they prefer ... i became like woooaaahhh nan its halloween ... then bonfire evening.... then my hubbys bday.... then my daughters...... then we are able to get reved up for christmas.. Its loopy they could ban all this ohh its christmas cos its no longer no longer till the decrease back end of december.. plus i think of theyve ruined it it was once good good each and every of the kinfolk have been given jointly and had a snicker 12 months we've been given promises yet theyve sucked out each and every of the christmas cheer and adjusted it with Kching insert money right here.
I agree . Christmas and the holiday season itself has become commercialized and all about the money and materialism. Everybody nowadays is all about give me, give me, give me, but they forget to give others as well.
yes, and it's very irritating when someone complains about the gift they have received!
