Do peacock cichlids pair off?

I really just wasn't sure if peacock cichlids breed in pairs or with multiple peacocks?

Update:

I have 1 male per 2 females of 2 species. Fire Red and Sunshine

    No, they are not pairing fish. You should have one male to 3+ females.
