Tennessee hardship license, do I qualify?
Hi, I am here to ask about getting a hardship license to drive. I am turning 14 in June of 2011, so it isn't a big deal right now, so I am just curious. My dad is on unemployment, my step mom hasn't made many sales lately in her job, and I am wanting to find work, and help pay some of the bills, because at the rate we are going, we aren't going to make it. I am going to try and find a job where I can work the weekends, and school days from 4-6:30, but, in order to do so, I am going to have to have a license to drive there. Do you think if I applied for a hardship, I would be approved, i have the car, and insurance taken care of? I just need the actual license.. Also, any suggestions on jobs? I'm thinking Chik Fil A? I just really need to get a job, to pay for some bills, i don't want bad things to happen...
Update:We are so low on money, my dad can't afford to take me, thats why he can't, and the fact that he is taking care of my grandmother constantly. Our bills are all past due. What other options do I have here?

You would have to show that there is no other form of transportation available. Usually if at least one of your parents is unemployed, then they assume that that person could drive you to your job. You would also need to get the job first, before applying for the license.
First of all, you're too young. Secondly, you do NOT need the license. Your father is on unemployment, he has not impediment to driving you.
End of story.
