It is a great car when it comes to handling and A/C. It is very reliable and fun to drive.
But the 323 is an entry level fuel efficient car. It feels quick because of its light weight and small body, but in reality it is slow.
There is a 323 GT (Turbo Sedan) and GTX (AWD Turbo hatchback). They are extremely rare and triple the price of a normal 323. They are considered quick.
The 323 is the entry car for mazda. It handles well, has good speed and acceleration but mind you, its not a performance car so don't expect to win any street races with it.

They were OK in their day, but that day was about 10 years ago, so any 323 still on the road nowadays will be well worn.

Yeah, it's a good car, practical, has efficient, but I've heard Mazda's tend to have a lot of electrical problems.
Any 323 you could buy now will be so old that it could never be described as a good car - it was just an OK car when they were making them ages ago
