Do Maccos do good paint jobs?
Ok, so i'm getting my first car and it needs a paint job asap. Its a dark green now..but the paint is really bad and rusty. The car is an acura and i want to paint it black. But i've been reading about maccos about they're paint jobs not being very good. Do they sand the car? and make it smooth?
Maccos is all i can afford for the time being...so any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated

They do an OK job...for a work truck. If that is all you can afford do yourself a favor and read up on the prep work. Sanding, body filling. This is the most time consuming part of the job and the one they also skip a lot. Its expensive as well due to the labor involved. You may not know how to paint but I'll bet you do know how to sand. Do a bit more research on it and you may end up with acceptable results. BTW, black is very unforgiving of any imperfections so be meticulous. Good luck.
I have had a couple of cars painted at macco. I handiest had it sprayed there. I did lots of the prep myself, and what I did not do I had a friend who is aware of what he's doing do it. I would under no circumstances trust them to do it. I barely trust them to simply paint it, but I advised the supervisor if it looked like **** i would not be given it. They screwed up just a little on a fender as soon as so I took it dwelling stripped it and brought it again and made them redo it. Simply be organization with them and tell them what you wish to have and expect.
mine lasted 3 years the a little spot on the hood started pealing up. the clear coat is just now starting to come up now. other people i know haven't had any problem. its best to pay someone to do the body work first.
on a 1 to 10 scale i would give them a 5.. and you get what you pay for...
It will look decent.. go for it..
