I can do like 5 pull ups but with hand in like 150 degree angle. Is that the right way to do it or should you have completely tense hands (180 degree ). Because i can do none that way. Hopefully you understand what i mean by those degrees
However different types of pull ups work different muscles, if you keep doing the ones you are currently doing soon you will be strong enough to do the other type.
