  • Recall that the area of a rectangle is found by the formula Area = length * width. In both cases, divide the area by the widths.

    (4x² - 6x - 40) ÷ (2x - 8)

    = 2x + 5 (length of book cover)

    (2x² - 44x + 15) ÷ (3x - 5)

= have fun with long division!
