I actually work at The Home Depot and used/sold concrete stain and sealer for many years.
If you are referring to just a clear coat sealer without color, we (as well as other home centers) sell quite a decent selection to seal your concrete patio.
At least with us, the one's we sell in our paint department is sold by Behr and one is by Thompson's. The Behr brand is high-quality one that comes in a low-lustre or high gloss finish.
Most of my customers and painters ask for the Behr by name and since you are using it on a patio, I would recommend using the low-lustre finish, so as to prevent slipping and falling. Below is a link that has more info on it:
As to apply it, treat it like you would any exterior painting job, you can apply it by brush, roller, or even spray. A gallon of this and most sealers go for around 250-400 square feet for coverage.
If you have a big area, I would definitely recommend rolling it with a 9" 1/2 inch nap roller or a pump sprayer made for exterior stains and clear coats. This product by Behr is waterproof, but still mask off areas and cover things you don't want to be coated when applying the product.
junebug, concrete sealer doesn't have the properties to adequately seal the wood and the chemicals will discolor the wood over time. Wood sealers are designed to permeate the wood to a certain depth and provide a smoother cleaner finish that can be worked with additional coats. It will polish better, and to get a really complete finish, a good wood wax is applied over the sealant. good luck
Use an acrylic sealer, which is available from any home center. While you are there, pick up a garden sprayer, which is the best way to apply it. To even out the coverage, you can go over it with a paint roller after you spray. Hope this helps.

RE:
Concrete sealer which do I use?
What concrete sealer do I use for a stained concrete patio. And how do I apply it.

Go to Home epot or Lowes, or any Ace Hardware... They can hook you up with what you need...
