do eyes adapt to fps?

when i had my old computer games were running at 30 fps witch was smooth but when i got my new computer and played on 60 fps for months 30 fps became as choppy as hell so i tried something and limited my fps to 30 and suprisingly after a few weeks 30 fps became smooth again why?

  • It's just your eyes becoming accustom to the change in frame rate, happened to me, I used to attempt to play Crysis on my old PC which wasn't so good, and I used to get a max of 25 fps, which didn't seem so bad though it was noticeable, now I have a much more powerful PC which can run it at like 120 fps constantly, if any game drops down to even 40 I start noticing it.

  • Biologically you cant see past 60 frames per second, But you can defiantly see a difference in frame rates, 240 fps will always be smother then 60 fps.
