Butter as coffee creamer?

I'm makIng a pot of coffee and I have no milk or half and half or creamer. Can I use butter instead? Will that work? It's made from milk right?

  • Nope, doesn't work that way. All you'll get is melted butter floating on your coffee. Yes, butter is made from milk, but by the time it becomes butter it's at least 80% fat and a very small amount of milk protein. If you're okay with globs of melted butter in your coffee, feel free to try it.

  • Good grief. Only if you want greasy, disgusting coffee. Butter is all the butterfat taken out of the cream by churning.
