the pcm uses the rear o2 to "see" if the catalytic converter is working. if there is no converter, then both signals from the front and rear would be the same. by using a spark plug defouler that fits the o2 sensor and isolates it from the exhaust a bit it fools the pcm because the amount of exhaust passing by is not the same therefore different. no light and no problem.
You can bypass the rear O2 sensor by using a CEL kill kit. CEL = Check Engine Light. May be known as a CEL eliminator. You can usually find them at the Autozone and you might have to ask for it. They are used to fool the computer into thinking the O2 sensor is returning good readings. You can probably find them on EBay also. I wouldn't pay more than $15-$25 for one. Technically, these were just made illegal in the last few months but you should still be able to find them. Hehe, looks like the Dodge man is slipping.
