how do i transfer print to canvas?

I'll use Liquid Acrylic Gel..

i want to transfer an image to a canvas...

should i paint the canvas white first before transferring it?

or can i just directly apply it to the white canvas?

    Always seal the fabric away from paint products by a coat or two of gesso or PVA
