How do I convert audio tracks from an MD into an MP3 file?

I own a Tascam 564 digital multi-tracker I purchased in Japan a few years ago. MDs never took off in the US -- and I want to convert my audio tracks. The unit has standard 1/4" outputs, and uses Sony MMD-140 disks.
