is my car a clunker or not?
My car is a clunker but it dose not qualify for the gas miles, it is average is 19 MPG and the program requires to be 18 or less, The real mileage of my car is 16 or 17. Any idea of what I can do to have my car qualified for the program?

absoloutely nothing unfortunately, it is a government program so it goes strictly by the numbers, if you have a truck and it is lifted or have bigger tires of course your going to get less gas mileage for example but that sucks because it doesn't count. Car dealerships go by the information on cars.gov and if it doesn't qualify than that's the end of it. My boyfriend had the same problem.
nothing. it has to qualify on their numbers... your driving is the real culprit you can't get that... or so they'll say.
