Natural Miscarriage Stories?

I don't want to hear.. GO HAVE A D&C because that is my final option and I am avoiding it at all costs.

I am 10 w pregnant and found out 3 days ago my peanut stopped developing at 6w 1d.

I was spotting light pink for 4 days, then yesterday it was a bit of watery brown, then last night some red and some obvious flecks of tissue.. and today is browny red with flecks of tissue, but it's not enough to come out a lot only a little.

When can I expect this to really get going?

and what can I expect with a 6w old pregnancy? I know they say anything before 8 weeks is usually like a heavy period.

But I am 10 weeks but the pregnancy and fetus are only 6 so will it be lighter than a 10 week miscarriage?

  • I've had both. My m/c at 5w6d was like a medium period, but I was SO freaked out, scared it would be worse. It wasn't, it just went away and then my regular period came the next month again.

My recent m/c, on May 21, was at 11w6d. :-(

We don't know how far the baby was, but my uterus measured 10-11 weeks the week before, and I stopped getting sick around 9 weeks or so.

I had sudden spotting/bleeding, then within a couple of hours, everything passed. It was flushed at the dr's, so we didn't see it. I had huge clots and a lot of blood, for about 3-4 hours. I was in the ER, and they gave me Ativan to calm me down, and Morphine for the pain. Also, an IV, which I only had part of. The pain wasn't that bad, but I was scared it would get much worse. I went home later on, after an ultrasound saw an empty uterus, with just a thickened lining. :-(

I bled heavily again that night for a couple of hours, and then it tapered off for 2 1/2 weeks. I am still spotting now, once a day or so. My hcg levels are down below a pregnancy test.

If the baby was only 6 weeks, you may not have a lot of bleeding, it may come out little by little. I never saw much at 5w6d. If it gets really heavy, you can go to the ER, and make sure everything passed.

    Good luck.

I am so sorry your baby died.

  • I had a miscarriage in February. I was 11 weeks along, however my baby stopped growing at 6 weeks also. I had some spotting so we did the ultrasound when I found out I miscarried. The next morning I actually started the miscarriage. People are different but mine was way worse than a heavy period. I bled so much in the first four hours it was unbelievable. I ended up fainting and being taken to the ER by ambulance with a Blood Pressure of 80 over 50. The doctors gave me fluids and sent me home. I continued to bleed heavily and miscarry for the next few weeks. All in all I bled for about a month. My doctor told me he didn't want to do a D&C because I wanted to try again soon. So he let me go while checking my levels every 4 days or so. I hated it but I am already pregnant again and it was worth not doing the quick D&C. I am sorry for your loss I have been there. Good Luck in the future and if you really don't want a D&C give it as much time as the doctor will let you.

  • I don't care what anyone tells you, I was 6 and a half weeks when I miscarried and that was NOT like a regular period!!!!

I started spotting the day I went to my first doctors appointment, he checked my cervix and determined everything was okay, and sent me home where the bleeding continued to get heavier and heavier almost like a period. I called the next day to update my doc and he still assured me everything was okay if I wasn't clotting... I had a couple clots later and was crying to my fiance on the phone when I got just ONE sharp pain in my cervix, not like cramps, and then I felt the cervical muscles pull it down... the gestational sac. Its hard to confuse with a regular period since its about 2 inches long one inch wide, and the color of raw liver. It was horrible. It happened 2 days from the start of bleeding, then I bled for a week and a half after that and had very light cramping.... I've been done bleeding for 5 days now.

I hear horror stories about D&C and I am sooo happy I had a natural miscarriage even though I wish I didn't have to see the 'products of conception.' It happened very quick and painless for me.

It should begin any time now for you.

I am SO sorry for your loss, I know what you are going through.

    Good luck in the future.

  • So sorry to hear about your baby, well with my first miscarriage i started to bleed at 6 weeks and 5 days and baby came away on its own at 7weeks and they did a scan on me and told me they could'nt see baby and i must of passed it already but when i got home a few hours later i 'felt' something coming nothing to big but it was forcing its way out and it finally came out and went down the toilet it does not hurt and its maybe the size of your little finger maybe a little smaller.

The 2nd miscarriage i had i had a scan at 8 weeks and 5 days and they couldn't see baby but my yolk sack was still there, i didn't want to have D&C either so i waited and waited and nothing happened so i had to go back 2 weeks later and have a D&C as i wasn't bleeding and there was no signs of it passing.

But in your case its different as you are starting to bleed and i will guess this will get heavier and baby will pass at some point as the midwifes said it wont hurt you if baby doesn't come away straight...try and stay calm i know its a very upsetting time but try and stay calm..

    All the best

  • I had a organic miscarriage at 8 weeks, which i grew to become into anticipating because of the fact an ultrasound at 7 weeks revealed a sac yet no heartbeat. I have been bleeding because of the fact approximately 6 weeks, first brown and then it grew to become purple, yet i did no longer sense any genuine soreness till the day or so earlier I handed my infant. the trials felt like contractions and got here in waves, yet inspite of the undeniable fact that they have been uncomfortable, they weren't worse than very undesirable era pains. on the morning that I lost my infant, I awoke, went to the rest room and felt it drop into the rest room bowl. i could no longer circulate away it there, so took it out. i did no longer seem very heavily, i could no longer, in spite of the undeniable fact that it grew to become into an surprisingly great clot and clearly the infant. I bled particularly heavily for an afternoon or so, then it grew to become to brown and interior of a pair of days it grew to become into over. i'm hoping i'm no longer being too image here and that it does not disillusioned you any further than you probable already are. i'm hoping that it occurs devoid of postpone for you and that i'm very sorry on your loss.

  • I Miscarried at about 9 weeks and it just flushed out. I know usually when its that early they do not do D&C's or so thats what the military doc say. It sounds like your body is already starting to reject it. My advice would be to call some sort of nurse hotline and see what they say.

Good Luck & Sorry about your loss
