Technically yes, if you have an unsuppressed Mp5k doing 40 damage to an opponent 15 feet away, thus killing in 3 shots, the suppressor will make the damage drop off much more quickly so that at the same 15 feet distance you will only deal 20 damage, taking 5 shots to kill, when using a suppressor.

But personal opinion, ive never noticed a difference I can still snipe with an smg, and I can still snipe with and smg thats silenced.
