The US doesn't have a healthcare system. It has a series of businesses that profit from the misery of others. Score Canada.
The US has many, many more people in jail. Policing is a local or regional thing, as opposed to the Peace Officer concept in Canada (where power comes from above, not below), which is national.
Score Canada.
The Canadian economy was somewhat affected by the collapse of US banks, but not that much, and our banks barely even blinked. Score Canada.
Climate - well, I live in the Yukon, and am enjoying it, so perhaps I am biased! There is good and bad in both places, although Canada rarely sees hurricanes, and far fewer tornadoes. However, we do get more cold. Call it a tie.
Ours, hands down. I've had two open heart surgy, and my dad was had cancer treatment for over a year. My family is in the same financial position we were before anyone had major health problems. Here, it doesn't matter what health problems I have...I will always be insured. If I were American, I wouldn't be able to get insurance at all, and I'm only 21.
Our justice system or America's. Well, I don't know a whole lot about America's justice system so I can't really say anything here. However, I can say that ours is flawed and needs to be reviewed. I love that we don't have capital punishment, and we don't just throw people in jail.
Our economy or America's? I would take our mixed market over your free market any day.
Our climate or America's? Well..our climate is different across the country, so.. We have the wet and mild west coast climate, the dry and extremely hot summers/extremly cold winters prairies climate, the cold northern climate and everything in between. So I'll take ours because really a Canadian can choose pretty much any sort of climate they want.
I'll take the Canadian health care system, I'm neutral on the justice system for the most part, right now Canada's economy looks better, but I would surely like some of the warmer in winter climate that some parts of the US have, especially around now. On the other hand, I'll pass on the really hot weather those parts have in summer.
Healthcare system- Canadas! I knew a lady who couldn't be treated for something in Toronto so she had to go to a hospital in Buffalo and her hospital bill ended up being over 500,000 dollars. It was 100% paid for by her Ontario Health Insurance Plan. If she had been an American she would have been screwed.
Justice System- Ours although American presidents are more interesting... Bush was an idiot and Obama is exciting because he's going to be historic.
Economy- Obviously Canadas. Way less unemployment and better minimum wage.
Climate- I like 4 seasons but I wouldn't argue that Canada's climate is better than Hawaii!
1. I prefer our healthcare system. I cannot imagine being in debt becuase I got sick or injured. That just seems so wrong to me. I really don't mind paying for this through my taxes, as it's something that everyone uses.
2. I don't really know much about the justice system of either country, so I can't really answer this one.
3. I think our economy was less affected during the recssion. We seem to be more stable than the states, so I again prefer ours.
4. This can't really be answered. Both Canada and the US have such a range of climates. Arizona, Florida, and Nebraska (for example), have extremely different climates; so do British Columbia, Quebec, and Nunavut. I guess I personally prefer Canada's because I'm more used to it, but I like that both countries have such a great range. There's something comfortable for everyone.
1. are you kidding?? canadian healthcare. america doesnt have one. Even if you're a millionaire, you are still not covered for any emergency surgery that you may require during the length of your life.
2. American justice system. I just find that the american legal system works better. Its more aggressive.
3. canadian economy for now. with a president like obama im not too sure if the american's economy is going anywhere. America just needs a better president that knows what the hells hes doing and not spending the tax payers dollars on useless projects.
I much prefer a system where my surgery was decided by a medical committee, in consultation with me, without an accountant or actuary being involved. Having been seriously injured in a car accident, I do have relevant experience in the system. My surgery and follow-up treatment would have been hundreds of thousands of dollars in the US, if it was even approved, and I would now be uninsurable in the US as well, without paying premiums higher than the average wage.
Our justice systems are not really that different, except we have no places with elected judges.
Considering our banking system did not implode as did the US system, that is pretty obvious,
Climate cannot be answered fairly, as both countries are large enough to have a great diversity of climates.
I Am Canadian ...... I like our Canadian health care (watch michael Moore's -sicko) our justice system although like most in the world could be vastly improved and our economy...still not doing too bad....but i would like to however have a climate like the united states... so much variation....like texas ...or seattle or detroit or New York...seems like a nice place to travel not saying canada is crap but america has a more diverse geography well gotta go watch hockey and eat a stack of flap jacks smothered in maple syrup...mmmm good ay?!

3.5 to .5. Canada wins!

1. Ours, no question
2. I don't really know much about either so I'm not sure
3. Ours because it was definitely less effected by the economic downturn and the recession
4. I love Canada so I could never not love our climate but I could use some warm weather in the winter since I like summer way more

Yes, to all except climate, since America has the climate from Texas, to New York so they have more variety...
Also, I love how open to differences Canadians are... with respect to race, sexual orientation, religion, etc...
