I never thought it was only an NHS problem. People need to read the facts on MRSA instead of blindly believing everything that is written in the press.
People use the MRSA to attack the Labour Party, same kind of people that will now assume I'm a supporter of the Labour Party. MRSA became prevalent back when Thatcher was in power in Europe as well as here. Europeans tackled it then, we didn't, now it's become another stick to whack Labour with. Facts? who cares about the facts?
I was unable to get the link but,my late husband spent a lot of time in hospital and i had the time to see what went on. There are hygiene notices everywhere and alcohol handwash dispensers outside every ward. Visitors use them but hospital staff do not.. I waited with my husband in what they called the 'day room' (no bigger than a cupboard) whilst his bed was being prepared. We waited 3 hours in a dirty environment. Other peoples cups and tissues littered the floor, blood up walls grimey walls and light switch. Now,in the days of the good old 'Matron',a hospital and all staff were spotless..............
the link didn't appear to work. it shouldn't come as a surprise that us has the problem too. i think people are just dirty nowadays. less attention to personal hygiene, more tattos, more piercings and some of those are the nurses !

It's only the media that links MRSA to the NHS. MRSA, as in Clostridium Difficile, is much more prevalent in the open environment.
