When DNA is extracted, why is no double-helix visible?

  • Because that would only be visible on the molecular level.

  • perhaps it is "melted" when you extract it. This would mean that it exists as a single strand instead of the double stranded helix form.

  • It is, if you have a high enough maginification microscope.
