can i use a processor fan as a system fan?

i had an intel 1.8ghz processor

i bought an amd phenom 2 x4 965 black edition

the intel fan works good

i was wondering if i can use it as a system fan and hook it up to the cabinet opposite to the processor fan

can i connect it?

If you really want to, there should be no problems hooking it up. But, the performance might not be worth the hassle.
