Physics emf problem............?
Q.1 Two identical loops one of copper and the other of aluminium are rotated with the same angular speed in the same magnetic field.Compare :-
1. The induced emf
2. The current produced in the two coils.Justify your answer
Q.2 : Show that a potentiometer is an ideal voltmeter
Comments
Ok. For the first two parts; one of these metals is a better conductor and therefore will produce more effect from the magnetic field.
Secondly: that almost sounded crazy to me, except that if you use a potentiometer to balance out the electrical effect then it can give a better reading (from Ohms Law) then many old-school meters. They used to have those as test equipment called a Bridge Circuit.
Q1
1. The induced emf is the same
2.The current produced is greater in the coil with smaller resistance (copper coil)
Q2.
Potentiometer IS NOT an ideal voltmeter. It is a RESISTOR.
It can be used to make/build a voltmeter.
The devil is in the details and physics is a VERY PRECISE science.
