Florida driver's license?

I have recently obtained my driver's license and I am aware of the fact that I can't have passengers who don't have a license for the first six months. I know I may sound stupid but does passengers include pets? Is it okay if I drive my dog which is properly restrained in the car? Or do I have to wait six months?

In advance, thank you very much!

  • I'm not sure because i don't live in Florida, but your dog probably doesn't count as a passenger. I think that rule is created because they don't want newly licensed drivers killing other passengers if they wreck, or just other passengers to distract from the driving task.

  • Florida driver's licenses do not have any passenger restrictions. You may have as many passengers as your car can legally fit.
