a few weeks ago i got a realy bad sprain on my finger and like 2 days ago i noticed a swollen lymph node near my armpit area. Just wondering are they supposed to cause any mild pain?
yes swollen painful lymph nodes are usually a sign of an infection. Typically the infection is somewhere near the swollen node because the lymph nodes are trying to fight off the infection, thus why they become swollen.
I don't think the two incidents are related- a sprained finger wouldn't cause your lymph node to become enlarged. I have some sort of infection as indicated by very swollen lymph nodes in my neck and YES they do hurt! I've been taking ibuprofen to reduce the swelling and pain and to bring down the slight fever. I've never had one swollen in my armpit area though- I might be more concerned with that. Good luck
Yes one of the places lymph nodes are located are in your neck, along with other places such as your arm pits. Anyways, yes that could be one of the reason for pain; swollen lymph nodes Hope that helped(:
If you broke the skin when you sprained your finger, then the lymph node is doing its job, their like little scavengers that "collect" and try to destroy foreign objects in the body. And yes they can become some what painful, or tender to the touch, and seem to pop up over night when their is an infection or bacteria present.
well im not SURE if they are or not, but id guess no...from my knowledge from honors bio they shouldnt, but swollen lymph nodes to genearlly show signs of an infection...
Yes, they will cause some pain. If they're infected, taht's when you feel the REAL pain! If it's swollen, you should probably see a doctor to make sure everything is okay
yess definitly. i have mono and epstein barr and one sympton is swolen lymph nodes. check your glands onyour neck because they might be enlaerged too and then maybe you should see a doctor if they dont go down
