does birth control affect menopause?
If a woman is taking birth control pills where she only gets her period every three month does that prolong the wait for menopause. To my understanding a woman goes through menopause once all of her eggs have been released. So if she's only getting her period a third of the time, wouldn't it take longer for her to reach menopause. Or am I totally off base?

No. First of all, no eggs are released while you're on the pill. That's part of how the pill works--it keeps the ovaries from maturing and releasing eggs. The bleeding is due to the sudden drop in hormones when you stop the pill. And menopause happens due to age, not use. A car rusts with age, whether you drive it or not.
