How do concerts work?

I bought a taylor swift ticket in salt lake city, UT. It is right at the front, 3 or 4 rows back. I have never been to ANY concert before, how does it work up close to the stage at a T. Swift concert? Are there seats? Do we stand? Is it a free for all to get as close to the stage as possible? How early should i get to the stadium If i want to be in the first row? I and to be close enough to high five that woman. haha Thanks everyone for everything.

Update:

  • If you got tickets, then you'll have a seat. Check the ticket.

You'll be close to the stage but not close enough to "high 5" her.

Most concerts, people will end up standing on their seats.

I doubt it if there will be chaos at a Taylor Swift concert. Its not like you're going to see a metal or punk band.

Probably with her, you'll be actually sitting in your seat.

  • Each concert is different but if you've been told you are 3 or 4 rows back then that's where you'll need to stay. If it's a standing gig then you can push your way to the front but it doesn't sound like this is.

Even though you have a seat you can stand unless instructed not to by security (but they only tend to do this with balcony seating)

I doubt she will be high fiving anyone! :)

  • LOL you wanna high five that woman?

    Taylor Swift sucks :D
