How to jam a door.?

I have a door with no lock on it and i was wondering how could i make it so no one could open it. I dont really want to block it with furniture. i was thinking mroe of jaming the door with an object so somone couldnt open it.

    A piece of wood small 2x4 under knob or handle. The other ideas above are good also. Just make sure You can get out in an emergency... :)

    Put a nail in the wall about 6 inches from the door knob, then use twine to tie around the knob and the nail. Instant lock. Or, just go to the hardware store and buy a slide or chain latch. They're only a couple dollars. For about $15, you can buy a keyed doorknob for the room.

    If you have a chair that you can prop under the door knob or handle do that. also you can jam folded up paper under the

    door itself. Stuff it in really tight and it will jam the door.
