Do braces create ulcers?
Does the wire create the ulcers or do the metal things create ulcers (I think they're called brackets?) I got braces on Thursday (no wire). And I'm getting the wire put on after I get some teeth pulled. I heard that people can get ulcers from their braces but do they mean the wire or the brackets??
Update:That's weird si e my brackets haven't been giving me any ulcers. There was a time where the bracket got stuck to the side of my cheek but it didnt hurt when I separated it.

Painly the brackets when they dont have a colored rubber band on it. this is because the bracket is rubbing against your skin (on the inside of your mouth)
btw: when you get the wire on your braces, your teeth will feel like everyone is lost and getting yanked out. be sure to take painkillers! they help a TON.
the brackets create the ulcers but you should be able to get dental wax to put over them. this will stop it rubbing so much.
