Is Paralegal a good career choice? Especially since I'm a guy?
I can get the program done in 6 months. That's what immediately attracted me. I also like law, but don't want to be an attorney or lawyer. I was just hoping to get a career that will give me a stable job with good pay where I can live comfortably as in pay all my bills. Being single will help. It's just that I here women are typically paralegals. It might be awkward. Or it might help because they may want diversity.
So any advice?
Update:I live in the fastest growing city in the U.S so that should help with my salary if I end up working for a massive legal department in years to come.

Here's the problem: Most law firms want 3-5 years of experience when hiring paralegals, so you'd be operating at a disadvantage. Also, with the economy being bad right now, a lot of lawyers are taking paralegal jobs so they'll HAVE jobs.
If you are lucky enough to get a job right out of paralegal school, don't expect to get paid more than $30,000.00 a year to start -- and if you work for a firm you'll probably be on salary, which means they own you. Be prepared to work long hours, weekends, and holidays.
P.S.: Diversity is not a consideration in the legal field. You either have the education, training, and skills to do the job or you don't.
