MAC concealer NW20 vs NC20?

I went to MAC for the prolonger concealer, and the lady matched me up with NW20. I think that I have a cool skintone; i have more pink in my face than yellow, & I look better in silver than gold. I want to use this concealer to cover my undereye circles & pimples, so I'm confused as to why she gave me NW instead of NC? Is it to counteract against the redness/purple-ish in my face? or should she have given me NC? I have generally good skin.

Update:

i thought NW - warm was associated w/ yellow tones, NC - cool was associated w/ pinker tones

  • MAC has named those Ns to confuse us!

Actually MAC's NW is cool tone (pink undertones) and NC is warm tone (yellow).

I don't know why MAC has it that way and I'm not sure what the abbreviations NW and NC stand for. I have heard different variations, but that doesn't change the fact that NW= cool and NC=warm.

So the lady matched you (your undertone) correctly.

You can even go to the official MAC site (http://www.maccosmetics.com/index.tmpl ) and see the colors. The NWs have clearly pinkish undertones and the NCs yellowish.

Also Temptalia's foundation matrix (http://www.temptalia.com/foundation-matrix ) has NWs for cool tones and NCs for warm tones.

  • 1. The satisfactory moisturizing concealer for each undereye and blemishes is the choose coverup concealer. If you dont have first-class traces or dry patches in your undereye field, i might propose the professional longwear concealer. This one last loads longer than the opt for coverup however will not be as moisturizing. 2. Nc20 is for warm, yellow-toned epidermis even as Nw20 is for cool, pink-toned skin. I am not sure about colorings on the grounds that u look to have straight-up impartial skin, however possibly the Nw?

  • NW stands for neutral warm. NW shades have warm pink undertones.

NC stands for neutral cool. NC shades have cool yellow undertones.

So, because you have pinkish undertones, the MAC associate was correct to match you with an NW shade. (:
