ACLU & Pledge Issue?
My homeroom teacher, and many others have been refusing to allow students who express their constitutional right to remain seated during the Pledge of Allegiance, by denying all privileges, such as making us remain in our assigned seats during homeroom, while others cant sit where ever. Also, they have been refusing to let student who didn't stand to go to the lavatory/drinking fountains.
I mailed a formal letter to my School District's Administrative/Superintendent building over 2 weeks ago, explaining the issue, and stated it needs addressed immediatly.
The unethical, and unconstitutional situation is continuing.
I feel the need to contact the ACLU of PA for assistance. I'm curious, as I do know the ACLU is non-profit, does that mean that their services are free? Or would I have to pay their attorneys who help me, from my pocket?
Update:I'm not asking for your opinions on the issue, as in the long run they mean nothing.
I simply care to receive an answer to the question I asked in the end of my statement.
Update 3:Thank you "It's that guy", your answer was extremely helpful, I'm going to leave the question open for more answers.

Yes, the ACLU usually works 'pro bono', i.e. no cost to you. That is why they are in business in the first place. And this is just the kind of case they might take.
In fact I believe there has already been a case like this. Jehovah's Witnesses are not allowed by their religion to pledge allegiance to a flag. I think the ACLU took this to court decades ago, back in the 60s if I remember right. You might look it up at their website.
Actually I just did look it up. There have been several cases at the state level. Look:
