While I like the Acadia and think it is the best product they have come out with in a long time my choice would be the Mazda. Personally, I like the sportiness of the CX-9, it drives more like a sportscar, hence the Zoom-Zoom. The Acadia is closer to the truck side of SUV while the CX-9 is closer to the sport side. If you are looking for more room then the GMC is your vehicle, but if you are looking for a driving experience then go with the Mazda. Looks-wise, it is the Mazda all the way.
Mazda looks much better, in fact, GMC looks like Mazda's shipping box.
As for which is better.... Mazda, of course. It's a Japanese engineering Made In Japan. And that means superior quality. Five Mazdas in my family since 1998, more than half a million miles. Not a single problem. Pretty much non-existent wear and tear.
