how do i hook up a sega genesis?

my friend just gave me a free one with a bunch of games and i want to play it but im stuck on how to set it up.i need helping finding out were the auto rf switch goes. i have an older tv so i think that would work for it. i have an adapter but sadly it only works for ps2,xbox, gamecube, and nintendo 64.

  • The RF switch plugs in to the coaxial port on the back of a TV. It's the same port you'd hook cable up to so if you currently have a cable connection plugged in to that spot you'll either need to disconnect it or use a splitter. Many RF switches have an extra coaxial port so you can have both cable and your genesis.

    Aside from that just plug in the power, plug the RF in to the genesis, and it should be smooth sailing.

  • The auto RF switch is plugged into the cable input on your television. The other end of the switch goes in the back of the Sega Genesis, in a matching port. Once it's hooked up, change your TV channel to the corresponding channel labeled on the RF switch (either channel 3 or 4), and when the system is one it should display properly.
