Ive been studying inverse all night and this question has done my head in? It's algebra and I have to find 5(k+6) = -15
Whats n?
i think u need to make k as a so k+6=15/5
k+6=3
k=3-6
k=-3
thats the answer
no n in the equation so i assume u want to find k
so expand first
5k+30=-15
so multiply through by 1/5
so thats 5k*1/5+30*1/5=-15*1/5
k+6=-3
k=-3-6
k=-9
No wonder it's doing your head in....there is no n!!
Surely, you mean what's k??
Well, k + 6 = -15/5
=> k + 6 = -3
so, k = -9
>
k = -9
5 (k+6)=-15
so divide both sides by 5
(k+6)=-3 take away 6 from both sides
so that means
5(-9+6)=-15
this statement is true
You ask "What is n?"
But there is not an "n" in sight!
5 ( n + 6 ) = - 15
5n + 25 = - 15
5n = - 40
n = - 8
5k + 30 = -15
5k = -45
k= -9
