All of the Vans I've had run true to size, I wear a 7 1/2 and that's the only size I've gotten in Vans. Hm, I don't suppose the Vans custom shoe site has reviews on the shoes since they're custom right? Perhaps try looking at reviews from other retailers about other Vans and see what about say about their fit. I usually get my shoes at Journeys and on their website you can see other people's reviews on each shoe and it always shows this scale where the person rates the shoe's fit; whether they run large or small.
