Coral Bay - a bit of a blast from the past for me. I spent 6 months or so travelling around Australia in Landrover in 1976. I remember a few nights at Coral Bay as a very sleepy little village consisting of just a couple of buildings including some sort of club/pub. There must have been a bit of an airstrip as I recall arriving there on a Friday night, pitching the tent, and being kept awake by small aircraft flying in all night from Perth. Rich folk off for a weekend fishing.
Your message prompted me to look up the net, and I was surprised to see the size now of what was a very small village. I recall beautiful sunsets over the ocean - a novelty for us from the east coast.
OOOH yes I have been twice. The Snorkling just off the beach was amazing. It sure is a wonderful place on earth.For those who don't know it's where The Ningaloo heritage site is in Western Australia . wonderful Reef and they have Dugongs out there in those pristine waters off the beautiful sandy beaches.
