  • Just format it, if you want it to work with windows too, use FAT 32...

  • "i have a power mac g4 with a 2.0 cpu"

No, you don't. Go to the top menu bar, Apple logo > About This Mac. Write down the correct stuff and report back. (The last version of G4 was 1.42 GHz.)

For even better info, click "More Info" and get the serial number, and plug it in at the site linked below. That will show the week/year of build.

This info is needed to give you a real answer, as opposed to what "Bob" always churns out. (HINT: Never format a 1TB drive as FAT-32 or any other FAT.)

NOTE: If it really is a G4 processor, the HDD connection is ATA, not SATA, so you must find either a new or 2nd-hand ATA drive (sometimes erroneously called IDE). I have not seen ant 1TB ATA drives, only SATA. Theoretically, you could buy a SATA PCI card, but I wouldn't be spending much on a ten year old computer if I were you.

  • I extremely have style of HDD the two the above and others and function had no problems with any so some distance. merely determine the instruments you evaluate are like for like memory cache, warranties, etc. '
