Keyboards: Casio privia px130 or yamaha p95?

i'm going to take piano lessons soon but i need to buy a keyboard. the best i could find so far are the casio privia px130 and yamaha p95. they both have good reviews but i just want to know which is better than the other. i'd like to get the opinion of someone who plays the piano or just knows alot about this.

  • Both are going to be about the same. Basically the entry level for the weighted keyboards (that mimic the feel of a real piano). These have a lighter feel than a piano, called semi-weighted. Personally I think Yamaha sounds are better, since they also make very high level professional keyboards. My choice would be the Yamaha.

  • It will depend on where the product was made, but the duty will likely be 6%. You will also have to pay provincial sales tax, and will be charged an administrative fee by the shipper (around $15). For the best type of instrument, it will depend on what you want to do with it, but this is a question better posted to the music category.
