2002 Acura RSX Type S reliability?
I'm looking to buy an 2002 Acura RSX Type S, but the only thing is it has 130k on it. I've heard that it is not really that bad since they are very similar to Hondas and can last a veryy long time. Will this car last up to 200k if its been maintained alright? Will it give me many problems at this high of a mileage?
My dad has an '05 Acura TL and he has had no problems with it what so ever, other than the occasional brake change and what not. Will the RSX be similar to this (even with 130k)??

Honestly you never can tell with a used car. It really all depends on how well it was maintained by the previous owner. But the Acura is a Honda so it should run forever.
Great question! I had a 2002 RSX w/115,000 miles on it and it was the sweetest ride. My son in law did the AEM airbox installation as well as the entire exhaust system from header to chrome muffler. These cars are great and I am still lookig for another one now. Mine ended up inside my garage that collapsed New Years eve 2010 and did over $7000 damage. All I got out of it was the floormats, my easypass, and not much else.

I've heard that the type s models sometimes have small transmission problems like 3rd gear popping out and a small grind if shifting at high rpm. So make sure you take it for a good test drive. Make sure it doesn't pop out of any gear(put it in gear and let go of the shifter, then be sudden with the gas pedal. it should stay in gear) and do some high rpm shifting.
Also take some sharp corners and bumpy roads. The suspension sometimes wears out quick on the type s.
I've owned a 2002 RSX-S since July 2001 when they hit the show rooms...I'm not giving it up any time soon. I've changed tires/oil/front brakes and thats it...
sure, go for it.
