do audio jacks transmit video?

i have a macbook air and i plugged in a headphone jack to rca cable and only audio goes to my tv. WHen i plug it in to my camera it transmits video and audio. Am i doing something wrong.

    Does it NOT specifically say AUDIO? Duh.

    Yes. You're assuming for some unfathomable reason that audio jacks somehow transmit video signals when they're called "audio jacks" and that your camera somehow represents every device with a 3.5mm jack. You also seem to miss that the Macbook Air has a dedicated video out port.

    The stupid...it burns...

    Um, yeah, the cable type makes zero difference if the jack doesn't output video in the first place.

    Different cables with different types of plugs. Video camera plugs have more connectors on the plug
