5th Grade Math Problem?
5th Grade Math Problem
Good luck!
This is a 5th grade math problem.? If you can open the spreadsheet,
you'll see that it?s it's a very small list of people who have gotten
the correct number.? This is not a trick question. This is a real math
problem so don't say that a bus has no legs. There?s no bus driver,
either.
There are 7 girls in a bus.
Each girl has 7 backpacks.
In each backpack, there are 7 big cats.
For every big cat there are 7 little cats.
Question:
How many legs are there in the bus?
Comments
7 Girls, 2 legs each = 2 * 7 = 14 legs
7 backpacks * 7 girls = 49 backpacks
7 cats per backpack, 4 legs each = 49 * 7 * 4 = 1372 legs
7 small cats per big cat = 49 * 7 * 7 * 4 = 9604 legs
14 + 1372 + 9604 = 10990 legs
Its 10990. Or 10992 if you wanna say theres a bus driver.
7 girls have (14 legs)
And each girl has 7 backpacks which means there is 49 total
7 cats x 49 backpacks = 343 big cats
343 big cats x 4 legs per cat = (1372 legs)
And for each big cat there 7 little cats so.. 343 big x 7 small= 2401 small cats
2401 small cats x 4 legs = (9604 legs)
So now add the legs...
14 + 1372+ 9604 = 10990 total legs !!!!
7 girls= 14 legs = 49 back backs,
49 backpacks = no legs = 343 cats
343 big cats=1372legs=2401 small cats
2401 small cats = 9604 legs
14+1372+9604=10990
You may want to check over the calculations.
9618
seven backpacks for each of the seven girls. thats 49 bags with seven cats in them. so the number of big cats equals 343. if there are 7 small cats to every big cats than it's 343 times 7. that 2401 cats all in all. each cat has 4 legs. so times total number of cats by 4. this equals 9604. that is the number of cat legs. there are 7 girls each with two legs. thats 14 human legs plus the 9604 cat legs. legs on the bus:9618
well....
7 girls.
each girl has two legs.
so 7x2=14legs.
7x7=49.
then theres 7 big cats.
each cat has 4 legs.
so 7x4=28.
then theres 7 little cats.
each cat has 4 legs.
so 7x4=28.
14+28+28+49=119 legs.
the answer is 9
