Florida Amendment 9 (2012), help?
I'm undecided on Amendment 9's property tax exemption for widows and widowers of military service members or first responders. I support our military and 1st responders (I am voting YES on Amendment 2's tax breaks for disabled veterans).
However, Amendment 9 would fully exempt widows/widowers of military personnel or 1st responders from paying property taxes. Is it fair for them to not have to pay property taxes because their spouse died in the line of duty? The estimated financial impact of this amendment being passed is very small, what I'm concerned about is whether this is fair for other tax payers. Your comments and opinions are welcome.

Well, if they plan to cut tax revenue where do they propose to cut spending? Probably not addressed in the literature.
I might support that benefit for someone killed in combat but not simply for survivors of say retired military personnel.
