Now obviously there's "Dark" and "Black", but i am looking for a bit more descriptive power to describe a wizards robe or coat for a fantasy novel.
use words that describe specific fabrics. maybe an emotion (sinister, moody, etc) be creative. use words that don't necessarily go specifically with a robe.
Well Rowling described Dumbledore as wearing a purple dressing-gown with planets on. Be inventive ; )
Use a thesaurus.
