How do I reset my Vista Compaq Computer?

So i have had this crappy computer for a few years and I have to delete everything on it because its been extremely sluggish and nothing will work! Plus we might be selling it soon... So how do I restore it to FACTORY settings? I do NOT! have the disc included . There is bound to be a way to do it if you dont know please dont answer

    go to accessories and then go to system tools then click system restore and click what date u want to restore it to. ok?

    Check the front boot screen and see if they have a key to press to boot to the "Recovery Partition". On Compaq/HP this should be F11.

    If there is none, then you can order a set of discs from HP:

    Only by reinstalling the OS you can take it factory settings.As you said you dont have the cd i would suggest you to go to add/remove programs and uninstall all the installed software.
